Food Pantry
One of the most active parts of the community outreach program is our Food Pantry. It is located across the street from the offices and feeds hundreds of needy people in the community per month. There is much work to be done in the Food Pantry every week in order to make this happen efficiently. Volunteers are always welcome and should be able to do some light to moderate lifting and must submit to a background check as well.
Homebound Ministers
It is our goal to make the sacraments available to all Catholics in our parish who would like to receive, but are unable to attend Sunday Mass due to injury, illness, advanced age or circumstance. Ministers will visit those who are homebound, hospitalized or in nursing homes/assisted living facilities in the area on a weekly basis. Training is required and will be provided.
Funeral Meals
Bereavement team volunteers cook meals to feed families and their guests following funeral services. It is our call to create as much comfort as possible and providing these meals can ease a burden for a grieving family. The team is separated into groups and leaders assign dishes as needed and will arrange for pick-up and delivery to the meal site. For more information, please call Marita DeCuir at (225) 647-6588.
